Physical Education
At Gilbert Inglefield Academy, we have created an exciting and engaging curriculum that is governed by the principles of ‘Head, Heart, Hands’, where children develop the physical skills and strategic knowledge to participate in a range of sports. Through our curriculum, pupils learn the strategies required for success in PE and are encouraged to apply our school values in every sport.
Our curriculum promotes ambition, linked to the Head element of our assessment criteria, encouraging pupils to think strategically, challenge themselves, strive for personal excellence and achieve their full potential. We provide a wide range of opportunities, linked to the Hands element, enabling all pupils to develop their physical skills, experience success and discover activities they enjoy. By creating an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported, we foster a strong sense of belonging, linked to the Heart element, helping pupils build positive relationships, demonstrate sportsmanship and feel connected within PE and school sport.
Our aim is for pupils to develop the skills, confidence and knowledge they need to lead healthy lifestyles that include regular physical activity, positive participation and a lifelong enjoyment of sport.
