If your child is picked to play in a school sports fixture, or they wish to take part in an after school sports club, they will receive a letter giving details of the fixture or club. They must take the letter home and get you to sign the consent slip which they must return to the P.E. office (in Kestrel block). A fixture letter will give you particularly important information, such as to whether it is a home or away fixture, what time it will finish, from where to pick up your child, and where to go should you wish to spectate.
In the case of clubs your child must return the slip no later than the morning of the day the club takes place. For fixtures the slip must be returned no later than the morning of the day before the fixture takes place. If they do not return the slip, they cannot take part. Please be aware that late submission of these slips may lead to a fixture being cancelled as we cannot assume a fixture will take place if we do not have a full team.
Pupils must wear full P.E. kit for fixtures.
A text message will be sent to you if a fixture or club is cancelled on the day. Fixtures in particular are subject to change. Reasons for this could be the weather conditions, lack of transport, non-availability of staff to supervise pupils, or other circumstances which the headteacher decides makes cancellation of the fixture or club unavoidable. Sometimes this may be a decision made by the opposing team, not by ourselves. We will ask you to contact the school to let us know if your child may go home on their own or whether you will be coming to collect them. If you have not contacted school by the end of the school day your child will have to stay at school until you do or until you collect them.
