Sikh Visitor to Year 7 CPRE classes
Year 7 CPRE classes had a special visitor on 17th October - Mr. Harkirat Singh from the Sikh Education Service.
Mr. Singh talked to the students about the Sikh religion and its key belief known as the 5 Ks. The 5 Ks are physical symbols worn by Sikhs to show they have dedicated themselves to a life of devotion to God. They are: Kesh (uncut hair), Kara (a steel bracelet), Kanga (a wooden comb) Kaccha (cotton underwear) and Kirpan (steel sword).
The students learned to count up to ten in Gurmukhi which is the language sacred Sikh scriptures are written in.
