Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium was introduced by the government in April 2011 and is funding allocated to schools to work with pupils who have been registered for free school meals at any point in the last six years (known as ‘Ever 6 FSM’). Schools also receive funding for children who are looked after by the local authority, and children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces.

How can schools spend Pupil Premium money?

Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they see fit in order to ‘narrow the gap’ in children’s educational attainment. However, we are held accountable for how we have used the additional funding to support eligible pupils.
