Tiny Forest Tree Planting Event

We are delighted that our school is taking part in the Tiny Forest Development.

This involves planting a dense fast growing woodland area at school roughly the size of a tennis court, containing over 18 species of native trees and shrubs.

This is a fully funded project provided by environmental charity Earthwatch.org.uk  and Central Bedfordshire Council as part of their sustainability plan to become carbon neutral by 2030.

Contractors are going to be on site to develop the project next week and our tree planting day will be on Friday 14th March.

As our trees grow  our students will work with our science team and Earthwatch staff to closely monitor the Forest and collect data on carbon absorption, flood mitigation, thermal comfort, and biodiversity.

Students will also be able to access the wellbeing benefits and use our new outdoor classroom area within it, providing them with an inspiring place to learn and bringing them closer to nature.
