Big Bang Fair Trip for students from 8EH, 8JL & 8JW

We are organising a trip to the Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair on Wednesday 18th June. There are 40 places available for the trip for forms 8EH, 8JL and 8JW.

The Fair is the largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) for young people in the UK and is being held at the NEC Birmingham. You can read all about all the things to do at the Fair at https://www.thebigbangfair.co.uk/ .

We will be travelling by coach and will leave at 10.30am, so your child should arrive at school at the normal time. We anticipate that we will arrive at the Fair at about 12.30pm. We should arrive back at school by about 7pm. Parents should collect their children from school, and we will advise you if our arrival time is significantly altered due to traffic.

Students should be in full school uniform and should bring a coat if the weather demands it. They will need to bring a packed lunch and a drink. If your child receives free school meals, please contact me if you would like the school canteen to provide them with a packed lunch.

Students may bring a small amount of spending money for an ice-cream if they choose but this must be kept securely in a purse or bag which they keep with them at all times. They may also bring their phone if they wish, but again this must be kept in a bag or a secure pocket at all times. The school cannot take responsibility for any money or valuable items taken on the trip.
